Vote Mike Fessinger For District Judge

I’m Mike Fessinger. I’m running for District Judge because we need to maintain a competent and professional judiciary with the ability to handle all cases, big and small. I would be honored to continue serving Sedgwick County in this new role.

“Mike has the experience, integrity, and judgment that Sedgwick County expects from a judge. He has built his career on fairness, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law, and I’m proud to support him.”

– Pete Meitzner, Sedgwick County Commissioner

About Me

I have dedicated my career to public service. I began as a law clerk for Judge Anthony J. Powell on the Kansas Court of Appeals, where I provided legal research and writing related to civil and criminal appellate decisions. Next, I served Sedgwick County as both a prosecutor and later as an employment law attorney.

Today, I lead the City of Wichita’s labor and employment practice, where I negotiate with labor unions, ensure due process for the city’s employees, and represent the City in the boardroom and the hearing room.

Husband to my wife, Christina, and proud dad to my son, Wyatt, they’re the best part of my life and I love them more than anything.

Philosophy

Judges should serve with restraint and respect for the rule of law. Courts must recognize the roles of the legislative and executive branches and intervene only when necessary. A judge’s role is to provide equal access to the courts and serve as a neutral referee, ensuring the rules are followed fairly and consistently.

Community

I serve on the executive board of my local Rotary Club as treasurer, monitoring finances and supporting fundraising initiatives. I previously volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where I helped grant wishes for children facing chronic and terminal illnesses.
