Who Is Mike Fessinger for District Judge

Mike Fessinger is running for District Judge, Division 17, in Sedgwick County. With over 10 years of legal experience, he believes our community deserves a competent, professional judiciary that applies the law fairly and consistently across the board.

Mike Fessinger began his career as a law clerk for Judge Anthony J. Powell on the Kansas Court of Appeals, where he conducted legal research and writing on civil and criminal appellate cases. He later served Sedgwick County as a criminal prosecutor and currently leads the City of Wichita’s labor and employment practice. As an employment attorney, he negotiates with labor unions, ensures due process for public employees, and represents the City at hearings and boardroom meetings.

Mike’s experience has given him a clear understanding of how the law affects the community and why an impartial judicial process matters to public trust and safety. He is an advisor to public safety leaders and elected officials, including the Wichita City Council, Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners, Wichita Police and Fire Chiefs, and Sheriff Jeff Easter.
